Your life, your choice Final group project

Final group project

Split into two or three groups and put on a comical play based on at least three lessons you have learnt during the course. At the end of the play, say which lessons your group chose to base your play on. In a few short sentences, tell the rest of the class what this course has meant to you.

Conclusion

To each participant, congratulations on completing the course, and thank you for faithfully attending all the lessons. Please complete the test in the middle of this book, hand it in to your facilitator, then wait for your results.

I hope that this course has given you an anchor in life. I encourage you to make better choices and to be more objective in everyday situations. Remember that love is not in what you say, but rather in how you treat your brothers and sisters inside and outside prison. Actions speak louder than words. You could speak all the languages in the world, even the language of angels, but without God’s love in your heart it wouldn’t mean a thing. Are you prepared to act on God’s instruction to love the Lord your God first and your neighbour as yourself?

Know that God has forgiven you and forgotten the sin you have confessed. In the same way, we who are made in his image should forgive ourselves and those who have hurt us. Is there someone you need to forgive or apologise to?

Start a prayer group and pray for those who are struggling with forgiveness and anger. Pray for the parentless that God will show himself as Father to them. Pray that they will strive to be good role models and children of God. Pray that you will also be a good role model as a community member, parent and obedient child of God. Remember that your choices affect not only you, but those around you too. You have one life – make the best of it. Finally, please pray for participants who will complete this course in future.

May God bless you with the knowledge that he has a place and a purpose for you, within your community. Remember to practise your R’s in all your present and future relationships.

With love,
Val Hamann
