Liberty in Captivity Lesson 6

Questions

How often do we have many, many questions that we are waiting for God to answer? Sometimes we experience traumatic events in our lives that leave many unanswered questions in our minds and hearts. With an issue like divorce or some crimes we often never get to know the reason WHY it happened, or HOW it started going downhill. Therefore we sometimes need to make peace with the fact that some questions will never be answered until such time as we are reunited with God.

However, I know the biggest question you sometimes have, especially when things don’t go well for you, is “Lord, why did You create me, why is my life such a mess?” This is a question filled with pain and longing for a better life, a question filled with a million other questions. At times like these it is important to remember that God will use your “mess” as your “message” and God will use your “test” as your “testimony”. You may only get and understand the answers years later. Trust God to reveal them in his own time.

We don’t always know the answers to life’s questions, but let us try to focus on the things we do know – the answers that God has revealed to us and let us make positive choices from that knowledge.

  1. What’s the biggest question you have?
  2. Are you willing to trust God to give you the answer in his time?
  3. Do you ever ask where God is when things get really difficult for you? Do you believe He is with you even now?

God created you, be confident – He knows the questions in your heart! God hears your prayers, even when you can’t find the words to say them!

Open your eyes and memorise …
Isaiah 65:24: “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”

Homework
Make a list of requests that you trust God will answer in future on a piece of paper. Keep it in your Bible for future reference. Tick the items off as God brings the breakthrough over the years!

God says …
I want you to be happy, I want you to succeed. Leave all the questions to Me, I will prove myself faithful. I think about you all the time and I have your best interest at heart. Will you trust Me with your future?
